World War One Workshop - A Soldiers Tale

2014 marked 100 years since the start of the First World War.

Education Group's World War One workshop offers a recount of life in the trenches at the time.

Our visitor will discuss a range of topics with the children starting with how he was recruited and joined up and his training for the Great War.

Our replica equipment is demonstrated and the children are involved in various drills as part of one of our interactive sessions.

We'll also look at a soldier's daily routine and trench life including digging latrines, the post office, dealing with trench foot and the rats.

Ending the session with an old fashioned sing song and a read of a few letters from home.

Our World War One workshop is a great way to cover this topic for children at Key Stage One or Two.
