World War One Workshop - Women of the War

2014 marked 100 years since the start of the First World War.

Education Group's Women of World War One workshop follows a young woman on her journey through the long war years of 1914-18.

It provides interactive samples of the way women's lives changed dramatically during the course of the war and describes some of the jobs undertaken by females at the time.

Our visitor will describe the munitions workers, The Land Army, The Post Office, female spies, clerical work and nursing on the western front working with the VAD in a field hospital.

Our replica equipment is demonstrated and the children are completely involved during our interactive sessions.

This World War One workshop is a great way to cover this topic for children at Key Stage One or Two.
