Special days to celebrate in school 2024-2025

The school year is full of exciting events and celebrations that add fun and diversity to the learning experience. Here are some of the key dates to look forward to in the coming months:

Autumn Term

  • Antibullying Week (11-15th Nov): This Anti-Bullying Week let's 'Choose Respect' and bring an end to bullying which negatively impacts millions of young lives. Welcome expert facilitators into school to work with your children to practice mindfulness to help cope with life's challenges. 

  • Christmas: Leading up to the Christmas holidays, many schools will hold festive events like carol concerts, nativity plays and Christmas jumper days. Get creative and decorate your own Christmas bauble or Christmas decoration with our mobile art studio!

Spring Term

  • Energy Saving Week (13th - 19th Jan): Reducing your carbon footprint can be done at home and at school. Why not welcome our Eco workshop using the latest VR technology into school for a whirlwind tour around the globe learning the small steps we can all take to help the climate. 

  • International Day of Women and Girls in Science (11 Feb): Inspire the next Marie Curie or Sarah Gilbert, Professor of Vaccinology, with an expert-led science workshop.

  • Lunar New Year (29th Jan - 3rd Feb): Also known as Chinese New Year, this colourful festival is celebrated with family and friends, and includes activities such as decorating, feasting, setting off fireworks and parades. The dragon dance is very popular and decorations, such as plates, are displayed. 

Additional Events

Throughout the year, schools may also celebrate other events like:

  • Cultural and Religious Festivals: Diwali, Holi, Hanukkah, Easter etc.

  • Charity Events: Children in Need, Comic Relief etc.

  • International Days: World Environment Day, International Women's Day etc.

These festivals to celebrate in school not only provide fun breaks from the routine but also offer valuable opportunities for learning, personal development, and community building.
