Women of WWI

Women of WWI

An authentic insight into life during WWI.

Our Women of World War One workshop follows a young woman on her journey through the long war years of 1914-18.

Edith explains how women's lives changed dramatically during the course of the war and describes some of the jobs undertaken by women at the time. She describes the munitions workers, the Land Army, the Post Office, female spies, clerical work and nursing on the western front working with the Voluntary Aid Detachment in a field hospital.

Our replica equipment brings history to life and the children are completely immersed during our interactive sessions.
