WWI: A Day in the Life

WWI: A Day in the Life

An insight into life during the Great War

Our immersive, actor-led workshop plunges you into the gritty world of a WWI soldier. This isn't just a lesson—it's a real-life encounter with history.

Come face-to-face with a living piece of history. A seasoned actor, in character as a soldier, will share his personal story, from the day he enlisted to the brutal reality of trench warfare. Children learn about gear and equipment from the era, giving them a tangible connection to the past. They will experience the discipline of military life by participating in authentic soldier drills. They'll learn what it took to prepare for battle, from marching to taking orders.

Learn about the hardships of life as a nurse on the front line, as well as those women on the Home Front who took on roles in agriculture and factories, keeping the economy running while supporting the war effort.

Go beyond the history books and learn about the nitty-gritty of war life—from the gruelling task of digging latrines to the constant struggle against the infamous trench rats.
