Diya Painting Workshop

Diwali is a Hindu festival that is also known as the Festival of Lights.

Synonymous to the festival are diya oil lamps, usually made from clay with a cotton wick dipped in ghee or vegetable oils.

The lighting of a diya lamp in honor of Diwali is regarded as forcing light upon darkness and evil. Further, since light represents all things good, a light shining from a diya in every corner is meant to bring hope and prosperity to all.

Education Group’s diya painting workshop is the perfect way to celebrate Diwali or can be enjoyed as a learning experience for classes studying India or Asian culture as a topic. It can also be enjoyed together with one of our Indian Dance Workshop days for a truly inspiring cultural experience.

The workshop caters for between 50 and 200 children per day with every child having the chance to decorate their very own diya. Our artist sets up a mobile studio in your school and provides specialist child-friendly materials.
